The Domestic Violence Unit provides intensive supervision to adult offenders sentenced to probation for committing acts of domestic violence. While the unit applies a variety of educational and/or therapeutic interventions in order to assist the offender in learning how not to return to the offending behavior, the emphasis is on community protection, especially in regard to real and/or potential victims.

The unit also consists of a Victim's Services Officer, whose role is to empower victims through their participation in the criminal justice system. Additionally, this unit conducts enhanced pre-sentence investigations on this population that seek to recommend the best sentencing options to the court, in line with the goal of enhancing community safety.
