The Direct Treatment Alternative to Incarceration Program (DTATI) provides the criminal courts with recommendations for alternatives to incarceration for individuals charged with or convicted of felony offenses who have a drug or alcohol abuse problem. The program links intensive all-day treatment services with specialized on-site probation supervision to ensure that clients are engaged in a meaningful and highly structured treatment program that maintains credibility with the courts and the criminal justice system.

There are three DTATI sites in Westchester:

  • Yonkers site located at 2 Park Ave. Yonkers, NY 10703 operated by St. John’s Riverside – New Focus
  • Greenburgh located at 30 Manhattan Avenue, White Plains, NY 10607 operated by St. John’s Riverside – Greenburgh ATS
  • Ossining located at 22 Rockledge Avenue, Ossining, NY 10562 operated by Phelps Memorial Hospital Center.

The program operates five and a half days a week. There is also an evening clinic program offered to individuals transitioning to a less intensive program component. Greenburgh also has an adolescent program four times a week after school hours.

It is important to note that the three probation officers assigned to the DTATI Program are housed at the treatment sites. These officers play a vital role in collaborating with treatment staff in preparing and monitoring the treatment plan as well as other mandated conditions.
